The Rappahannock Hunt Experience

Rappahannock Hunt is one of the most unique hunt experiences you can have. First of all, our territory ranges from rolling hills to mountains. While it can be formidable there is nothing like making a run up Red Oak Mountain, reaching the top and looking down from that 360 degree view to see the fog filling in the valleys 1,400 feet below you.

That is what we see when we hunt.

Rappahannock Hunt is a small hunt. We number our fields in the tens not the hundreds. With our small fields, our members are in the midst of the chase all the time. Its a great experience to be checked up in the woods and the hounds are working a covert within sight. When those first couple of hounds start to speak and the pack starts to move as one. That’s a thrill to watch.

That is what we feel when we hunt.

Rappahannock Hunt is fast hunt. Our hounds are a fast, all weather pack. As you are galloping along and watching the hounds coursing through the woods at full speed, its quite an adrenaline rush. The hounds are flying along, your horse is flying along and you’re flying along with them through the woods, up and down the hills and mountains.
