Energy Management and Conservation will be the
lynchpin of the American economy for the next generation. No economy can
grow without energy to meet its needs. As we have seen,
fluctuations from the energy sector can have dramatic impacts upon our
economy. Alternative energy, energy management and conservation
cannot replace the energy that is currently mass produced. It can,
however, help businesses insulate themselves from the economic shocks
delivered by the energy industry.
Today, Energy Management and Conservation is
highly fragmented and has not achieved critical mass. Without
consolidation the industry will continue to grow in fits and starts
without achieving significant impact. It is time for players in
the industry to look at their businesses and ask the question, "How am I
going to grow?". Of course, one option is through organic growth.
But that is a slow process and without significant outside investment, a
very limited option. M&A offers the opportunity to grow quickly
and enable businesses to expand services, product lines or
geographically without the need for extensive outside capital. |
